A new Australian podcast dedicated to celebrating, supporting and educating the community around thoroughbreds beyond racing has secured Vytamyx as its Naming Rights Partner.
The Off the Track Horses Podcast, founded and hosted by experienced equestrian broadcaster, journalist and thoroughbred advocate Jo McKinnon, will launch this spring, sharing compelling stories from across the racing, breeding and equestrian industries while exploring the many pathways available to thoroughbreds after their racing careers.
The partnership with Vytamyx represents a significant commitment to the growing off-the-track thoroughbred community and will support the podcast in delivering high-quality, engaging and informative content to horse owners, riders, trainers and racing participants across Australia and beyond.
McKinnon said securing Vytamyx as Naming Rights Partner was an important milestone in bringing the vision for Off the Track Horses to life.
“I’m incredibly proud to welcome Vytamyx as the Naming Rights Partner of the Off the Track Horses Podcast.
“From the outset, I wanted this project to be about much more than producing a podcast. Off the Track Horses is about creating a platform that celebrates the thoroughbred beyond racing, shares knowledge and brings together people from all parts of the industry who genuinely care about these horses and their futures.
“Finding partners who share those values is incredibly important, and Vytamyx’s commitment to equine health and wellbeing makes this a very natural partnership.
“We have some wonderful stories to tell and some outstanding people to introduce to our audience. I’m really excited about what we can achieve together.”
The Off the Track Horses Podcast will explore the complete journey of the thoroughbred beyond the racetrack — from transition and retraining through to nutrition, health, behaviour, competition and long-term care.
Episodes will feature respected industry professionals, equine experts and, importantly, the everyday people whose lives have been changed by off-the-track thoroughbreds.
The podcast will also shine a light on the extraordinary versatility of the breed and the growing community of riders, owners and organisations working to provide thoroughbreds with meaningful and successful lives after racing.
For Vytamyx, the partnership provides an opportunity to support education and conversation around equine health and wellbeing while connecting with an engaged audience of thoroughbred owners and equestrians.
Maryann Thexton, Chief Commercial Officer for TMG Group said;
“The transition from racing into a new career is a particularly important time in a thoroughbred’s life. Their workload, environment, feeding, routine and expectations can all change. We are proud to support a platform that helps people understand that transition and celebrates what these horses can go on to achieve.”
“If this partnership helps one owner understand their horse a little better, gives one retrainer a useful piece of information, or encourages someone to see the potential in an off-the-track thoroughbred, then it is doing something worthwhile. That is the sort of impact we want Vytamyx to have in the horse community.”
“One of the things we particularly like about Jo’s vision is that this is not simply another platform to sell things to horse owners. It is about conversation, education, experience and asking good questions. That is exactly the sort of industry conversation Vytamyx wants to support.”
McKinnon brings extensive racing, equestrian and media experience to the project, including broadcasting roles with Sky Racing and the Hong Kong Jockey Club, involvement with the Longines Hong Kong Masters, and decades of experience riding, showing and working with thoroughbreds.
She said that practical experience would remain at the heart of the podcast.
“Off the Track Horses comes from a genuine love of the thoroughbred and from actually being out there doing it — retraining them, riding them, competing them and experiencing both the challenges and the rewards.
“These horses have so much to offer after racing. We want to tell those stories, share useful knowledge and continue building a community that celebrates what the thoroughbred can become.”
The Vytamyx Off the Track Horses Podcast is scheduled to launch in November 2026, coinciding with the height of the Australian spring racing carnival.
Further details on the first episodes, guests and launch will be announced in the coming weeks.
